I first heard El Pus on pandora (www.pandora.com, go while you can! before the RIAA strikes, which was named worst company in America 2007 beating out Haliburton! http://consumerist.com/consumer/worst-company-in-america/riaa-wins-worst-company-in-america-2007-245235.php) and they're easily one of the best hip-hop groups I've heard in the past year.

I wish I could have found them sooner. Too bad I didn't. Thankfully my boy Peter introduced me to Soul Position and Blackalicious.

Okay, after getting 4 to 5 messages a day asking about El Pus, I've decided to kill numerous birds with one stone..er...blog. As far as I'm concerned, El Pus is toast. There have been offers of tours and gigs, but I ain't interested in that shit. Starting with Virgin Records, shit was fucked up from the jump off. Matt and Dean Serletic are easily THE worse record execs in history. Well, Matt anyway. Dean was just riding his brother's dickhairs. How else can you go from being a roadie and Matchbox 20's ass pony to the VP of A&R at a major label? They constantly lied to us, and gave their whiter artists the things that were promised to us. You had industry insiders saying that we had the album of the year, but they chose to dump 2 million dollars and 2 albums into The Exies. The Exies couldn't fill a phone booth with a fucking guestlist! They also had another band called Color, but one of the members committed suicide. They said that it was over a girl. She probably dumped him after the Serletic brothers fucked up his music career and tanked their album. Just my opinion. It wasn't ALL their fault. A band won't last if some members are living the "team" concept, while others are looking out for themselves while sitting back with a sense of entitlement. Kind of like all of your hard work is for their advancement and greed, because you're a 2nd class citizen in their eyes when it comes to the band. Kinda like your sweat and hard work is for financing their fucking rock n roll fantasy! In the end, El Pus wasn't about being part of a team, but people looking for ways to get over and them telling you why they were entitled to fuck you over. However; the 9 years I spent in El Pus turned out to be a fucking waste of life, considering what I have to show for it. I'm glad somebody got something out of the deal, because it sure as fuck wasn't me! And we can't put all of it on just one guy either, shit was even more fucked up AFTER he left! As for me, I'm working with Anthony David as his road manager/dj/backup singer/emergency bassist. Damn, that's alot of titles! I also have a production/songwriting project going, so I'm cool. I'm also going to be doing some stuff with DJ Toomp. As for our fans, you guys fucking ruled! Love you all! Hope this answer all of your emails. Take care. I won't be addressing this again. So today I was at work.
A girl got canned so I picked up some of her shifts. Nice.
I got an email reminder reminding me that today was the last day I could register for classes for next spring.
Fuck.
I had totally forgotten.
I left early and got up there. I had plenty of time but I had to meet with my advisor, some of my teachers and aides. I wanted to try and test out of some classes and it turns out I had to do that then also.
Fuuuuck.
So I took the tests. It took a few hours to get everything sorted out and done but its over.
SO
I go out to my dad's Jeep which I'm driving this week and there was a biiig nasty flat.
Shit.
So, I go back in and most of the people are gone. Thankfully I can find a security guard who calls me a cab and a tow truck. I will get the Jeep back tomorrow morning. I will be out alot of cash.

Regionals is done. It was good.

The tournament bracket system ws horrible. We mathmatically finished 9th, but because of the terrible seeding system we finished 13th. We went 2-2, and teams that went 1-3 losing to teams we beat finished ahead of us while their only win was against a team we beat.

Whatever!!

My new job is miserable. I've never had a more consistantly stressful physically straining job ever. I look forward for reasons to leave early or not come in if it's justified. My old job is boring but it's ok. At least there I can eat and talk to people and listen to ESPN radio online when my managers aren't looking.

I like fall though. It's prime for:
-Running
-Watching sports on TV
-Snuggling with blankets/people
-Eating
-Other things

It's awesome.

Sectionals 06 came and went.

We made it to Regionals, going 3-0 with a 45-9 point differential on Saturday beating Ohio University, University of Dayton, and Case Western. Sunday we lost to Madcow from Columbus(1st), Jawbone from Cleveland (2nd I think, maybe 3rd) and beat Ohio Northern University (5th or 6thth?) and Age Against the Machine (5th or 6th)

All in all we did well.

The Coed team also went undefeated on Saturday to finish first in our section for coed. Both teams are going to Chicago for regionals.

Csilla's team came in 3rd so she's going also I think.

I went to Aaron's wedding in Boston. It was awesome.

We drove something like 18 hours in 1 day to get there and 16 hours in 1 day to get back.

Shawn Conn, Peter Clark, and Jon Chapman rode with me. Peter drove.

The ceremony was really really nice and the reception was fun.

Our hotel was nice.

We stopped twice so I could see Csilla which was cool.

I love my friends. They really are the best.

We had our tournament here in Louisville a few weeks ago and there's only a few things worth mentioning.

WE WON!

It wasa great way to get our whole team together and play. That is going to basically be our sectionals team give or take. Based on how we played then there's no reason to think we can't get to Regionals again this year.

We went 3-1 Saturday, winning our 3 pool play games by a ridiculous total point margin of +32. (15-2, 15-3, 15-8) and lost our crossover game in a heated match with this team called Warriors. They were assholes. Newt can vouch for that.

Sunday our first game was against the Iron Men from somewhere up North. They wern't bad but we easily won once we shook the morning rust off and got rolling.

Our second game on Sunday was against the number 1 seed overall, Black from St. Louis. They were good but not as good as they could have been. If they had their whole team it would have been a battle.

Our last game was against the Warriors again and this time we did not fall prey to their asshole jedi mind tricks. We stayed sharp and won 15-11.

Anyway, the food was cool, seeing out of towners was awesome, got to hang out with Csilla and all alot and that was cool.

news!

- Earlier this week I was in a nasty car accident. We got t-boned on the carpool from work. noone was hurt aside from the usual scrapes and bruises you'd expect.

- I'm exhausted. I've been playing so much ultimate lately. I considered staying home to rest this weekend but fuck that son!

- I'll start back at Servicenet barring some unexpected twist July 31st.

- My plan to sleep outside for a week ended in disaster when a half hour into sleeping in my backyard I decided that idea was stupid and climbed up to my queen size bed with blankets and no grass.

- I'm going to Columbus this weekend.

- The weekend after this upcoming one is Swill in the Ville. Our big tournament that I'm super psyched about. The worst part is I'm not even that excited to play. I am, don't get me wrong, but also for the people and the streaking and the ridiculousness that is sure to go on.

- If Olsen isn't there I'll be pissed.

- I ate some leftovers at my dad's house and I don't think they were for humans anymore. I have a bad habit of eating anything I find. I have to stop that.

Yesterday was the wedding of Katie (formerly Wholfarth) and Nathan Broom. I was surprised Katie didn't keep her last name in some way. I've got many more weddings this year. Sam, Aaron, and more. The first wedding of my friends will be a very good time. Everyone will be there. We will laugh and sing and have fun. Someone will get drunk and someone will get depressed and someone will hit on someone else who doesn't want to be hit on. Someone will hit on someone who does want to be hit on. It will be beauitful! It seemed like for a while all I was doing was going to funerals.

My friend Ben Blatz's father died suddenly.

Claire Dufton's Memorial.

Mandy Matthew's father died of cancer and Laura Quinn and I went.

There were more. More than I want to list. I hope this trend of weddings over funerals holds.

I don't think as many people get as emotional as I do about these things. there's something so finalizing about it that makes it extraordinarily important to me. I've always sort of saw funerals as the beginning of the end of hope. When someone is in the hospital, even in the most critical of conditions, there is hope to cling to. A funeral to me symbolizes the end of that hope. So final. Weddings seem to be the opposite. I have no personal interest in marrying. Maybe I won't ever. Maybe I will in a few years. I have no idea and I'm not concerned about it. I'm impressed when people get married though. It's not easy to make that lifetime commitment to someone and stick with it. I like to use short, choppy sentences.

I had a dream the other night that Aaron Smith was in trouble. He was trapped on his porch.

Man, I'm so exhausted right now.

It's as if I'm in a stretch where everyday is the most tiring day ever.

And I feel like I'm being pulled all around. I'm working somewhere in the range of 50-55 hours a week, Jon wants me to move in to the Hooks earlier than I think I can, (not that he's hounding me about it, it's just been on my mind), I'm housesitting in Louisville in a few weeks, Spring League for Ultimate starts up soon and on top of alll that, I havn't been able to go visit Whit because I'm broke ass.

Fuck. That.

However, working at Jarfi's has been cool. I've learned tons and everyone in the kitchen is hilarious. Especially this guy Raymer. He's cuban and refers to all the black guys at work as "Shaquille O'Neal".

HE calls all the white guys after movie characters. I've been Castaway, Han Solo, and Indiana Jones.

Jarfi himself is kind of a strange guy. He's very demanding. It's as if he determines arbitrary times for certain tasks and gets upset when they don't meet his ridiculous schedule. He's an amazing chef though, and a very considerate boss.

THe craziest thing is how I've just been thrown to the wolves there. It's like I got sucked up in a downhill snowball that has no time to get used to me being there, it couldn't care less.
